An Ordinary Day #42

Gardens, especially my sister’s, are bursting with color this time of year.

Flowers aren’t my first choice when it comes to photography,

but when the lighting is perfect and the colors are so intense,

how could anyone resist these objet d’art?

An Ordinary Day #41

The view this morning…

It’s a little warm outside and (obviously) a lot cooler inside my home this morning.

I swear every window looks just like this one!

Maybe this should be my outlook on life for today:

A little foggy this morning, but hopefully, things will clear up soon.

An Ordinary Day #40

Peanut Butter.

My college boys, brought home opened jars of peanut butter.

One each.

I had my own jar of opened peanut butter, so that meant something had to be baked.

Right?

What better to bake than peanut butter-chocolate chip cookies?

Found the recipe on Smitten Kitchen, one of my all time favorite cooking blogs.

The recipe yields a slightly crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside cookie.

Perfect!

I hate those hard-as-heck, criss-crossed-with-a-fork cookies from my childhood.

These–I could eat every one of them!

An Ordinary Day #39

For Sue, my sister.

Because it makes me think of her and her incredible flower gardens.

Because she works hard–everyday.

Because if I don’t call her, she calls me–everyday.

Just because.

An Ordinary Day #38

moth

Are my eyes playing tricks on me?

Or is it the early morning light?

Walked by my son’s car, before the sun had peeked above the horizon,

and tried to brush off the “leaf” that seemed to be stuck to his car.

It moved.

On its own.

What?

I have never seen a moth decked out in camouflage attire!

The moth’s official name is:  Pandorus Sphinx Moth
