Summer.
Watering the lawn, or the grass seed that someday hopes to be part of the lawn.
I feel just like this “Sprinkler Babe” today.
A little flabby, stuck in the straw,
and the thoughts inside my head are whirlin’!
I love Summer!

Shoot, Sort, Stuff, Stamp.
Check, Check and Double Check!
Photography jobs are not always about the “glamorous” shooting.
Sometimes it’s about the accuracy of the lists,
the organizing of the components
and the ability to get it to the Post Office.
Sometimes it’s re-living your childhood days
of working (sorting, stuffing and mailing) for your Dad at the PennySaver.
Thanks Dad! You taught me well!

Moving in, moving out.
One day you’re an incoming first year student with all the hopes and dreams of this new life
and the next day your leaving this place you’ve called home for nine months.
You survived the good and the bad.
I am glad you’re home!

“It was a dark and stormy night.”
Thanks to the crew and staff at the Moraine Country Club
for their calm demeanor and humor tonight.
Large event with at least 200 people escorted into the basement for safety.
(Yes, they have a basement.)
Thanks to the Kettering Medical Center Security Officer
that warned us of the coming storm and made us stay in the basement.
Thanks to Mr. R. Smith for striking a pose to maintain some levity.
Always a pleasure doing business with you!
Stay safe!

“It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.” Henry David Thoreau
Tucked away in my neighborhood, on a quiet street, is a simple house.
I pass it everyday as I walk my dog.
During the cold winter months, I noticed the “sparkle” in the trees, but couldn’t quite
figure out what was adorning the tree branches. Leftover Christmas decorations?
I contemplated asking the owners if I could photograph the tree every time I walked by,
but the house seemed perpetually empty. Snowbirds, I assumed.
Curiosity got the best of me and I finally walked into the yard one cool, spring morning.
Not Christmas decorations, but crystals from an old chandelier! Clever!
The very next day, friends and I were brazenly standing in the yard admiring the crystals,
when the owner pulled into the driveway. Caught!
She was delighted that we were admiring her handiwork and, of course,
offered me the opportunity to photograph her tree crystals.
I love when people do the unexpected.
Art…it’s everywhere!
